They say the move is in hopes of getting parents to be more active when monitoring their kids' health. The lawmakers say there are about 240,000 children currently without health insurance. According to the lawmakers, about two-thirds of those children would be eligible for a city insurance plan. The bill would require schools to provide information to parents about available health care options.
