Bronx mother and daughter found slain in apartment
Police arrived at a Furman Avenue apartment Tuesday morning to find a Bronx mother and her daughter fatally stabbed.
Friends and relatives last saw the mother, Yolanda, 25, and her daughter Monique before midnight on Sunday. They became worried over the weekend because they hadn?t heard from Yolanda. When individuals stopped by the apartment Tuesday morning to check up on the mother and daughter, they noticed that the window near the fire escape was open. They immediately called police, who arrived after 11 a.m. to find both bodies.
Residents at the Furman Avenue apartment complex are concerned for the safety of their children. One resident calls whoever is responsible for the deaths ?heartless.?
?I have kids of my own and I'm scared,? said Antoinette, who declined to give her full name.
Those close to the victims are confident that their killers will be found since the building is equipped with surveillance cameras. They claim that Yolanda had no enemies and no boyfriend.
Residents say that the mother and daughter had moved to the neighborhood over the summer.
