BX Web site launched to fight hunger

The New York City Coalition Against Hunger and City Councilman Eric Gioia have launched a Web site to combat hunger.

The Web site is designed to match volunteers with soup kitchens and food pantries in need of help. Volunteers and centers are matched up based on availability and location.

?This Web site is going to show volunteers that in places like the Bronx, there are hundreds of soup kitchens and food pantries that are under-funded, under-staffed, that definitely need this volunteer help,? says Joel Berg of the NYC Coalition Against Hunger.

Gioia says the site makes it easy for people to impact their community.
