Big Blue fans ready for Super Bowl ticker-tape parade
As Giants fans celebrate their team's come-from-behind Super Bowl win against the Patriots, preparations are under way for a parade Tuesday in downtown Manhattan.
The underdog team beat the previously undefeated Patriots in Glendale, Ariz. Sunday. With less than three minutes left in the fourth quarter, Randy Moss caught a pass from Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to take a 14-10 lead. The lead switched three times during the quarter.
With 35 seconds left in the game, Giants quarterback Eli Manning threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress. The Giants won 17-14.
"It helped that players have been together for the last three or four years," Manning said. "We've just learned how to deal with adversity."
Manning was the Super Bowl MVP with 255 yards and two touchdowns.
The Giants are Super Bowl champs for the first time since 1991. The 42nd Super Bowl winners will be treated to a ticker-tape parade starting at 11 a.m. through the Canyon of Heroes in lower Manhattan.
