Adolfo Carrion gives State of the Borough address

Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion delivered his seventh State of the Borough address Friday.Speaking at Fordham University, Carrion said the Bronx is doing better than ever before. He highlighted that the borough's economy is booming and that unemployment is down significantly.For 2008, Carrion said he wants to focus on health care and the youth in the Bronx. The borough president says he wants residents to learn about healthy living and wellness. He said he will work with companies on Wall Street to give students chances to get experience in the corporate world. The borough president also said he wants to hold a summit to address the ongoing mortgage crisis that is affecting homeowners in the Bronx and the rest of the city.The borough president has confirmed that he will be running for city comptroller when his term expires.To see the full State of the Borough address, go to channel 612 on your iO digital cable box and select iO Extra.
