NYC medical examiner: 6 died after 4-day heat wave
The New York City medical examiner's office sayssix people have died of heat-related causes after four days ofscorching temperatures.
Medical examiner's spokeswoman Ellen Borakove says three of thedeaths were in Brooklyn and three were in Queens. Five of the sixpeople were over 70 and were found in their homes.
The city suffered through temperatures in the high 90s fromSaturday through Tuesday. Humidity made it feel well over 100. Borakove says five of the victims were found on Tuesday. Thesixth was an 84-year-old man from Brooklyn who was pronounced deadjust after midnight Wednesday.
The other victims were three women and two men ranging in agefrom 57 to 89. They all died of hyperthermia.
