Both sides cite progress in cement labor talks
Eight days after cement truckers went on strike, officials on both sides cited progress Wednesday in negotiations. At three companies in Brooklyn, cement trucks and equipment remain idle as talks continue.

Eight days after cement truckers went on strike, officials on both sides cited progress Wednesday in negotiations.
At three companies in Brooklyn, cement trucks and equipment remain idle as talks continue. Members of Teamsters Local 282 say they have simple demands that would send them back to work.
"Give us a prevailing wage so that we can keep up at least with what's going on in our economy presently," says Francis Finneran.
Truckers say they want a three-year contract, a raise and stronger rules to ensure a day's work. Currently, they say a day's work isn't guaranteed.
"We go week to week. That's the way it is. We all have children," says Francis Finneran.
Both sides tell News 12 that they've made progress and negotiations will continue until they reach a fair agreement.
