BX residents rally to donate goods for Gustav victims

Bronx residents anticipated the worst Monday for Louisiana residents being pounded by Hurricane Gustav.

The Citywide Mobile Response Corporation, a Bronx health care agency, called on residents to lend a hand. It is collecting donations of non-perishable foods, water, diapers and batteries. The items will be sent to those affected by the storm.

Citywide spokespeople invited residents to drop off goods at 16-24 Stillwell Ave. and invited people with questions to phone the agency at 718-697-6100.
