Carrion says DOE falling short in key areas
The Department of Education is falling woefully short of its mission on a number of fronts, says Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr.
Carrion says he surveyed 200 principals and found the DOE lacking in four major areas. The department received an F for buses being on time, a D for getting children registered in a timely manner, a C for making sure kids are in school and another F for helping children get transfers.
The borough president says that the purpose of the report is to get the DOE to work with school principals to fix recurring problems.
