Man arrested in connection with violent robbery

A 20-year-old Bronx man has been arrested in connection with a violent robbery that left one man in a coma.

Last Sunday, Palagio De La Cruz was waiting to get into his building on Davidson Avenue when two men assaulted him. Police say one man beat him with a baseball bat while Gavin Scott, the man in custody, robbed him.

Scott has been charged with attempted murder, assault, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

The family is saying that the 52-year-old father is in critical condition and will undergo surgery.

Anyone with further information on the second suspect is urged to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
