Off-duty officer injured in hit-and-run crash
An off-duty police officer was struck in a hit-and-run crash over the weekend, and now police are asking the public for help.
The officer was hit after a fight broke out early Saturday morning on Morris Park Avenue. Neighbors say a group of men was beating up a man in the street.
According to onlookers, another man drove up to rescue his friend. They then sped away, hitting two men who were walking to their car, one of them the off-duty officer.
Police say none of the injuries are life threatening.
