Election Day has brought out droves of Bronx voters who say long lines are only a minor inconvenience.
As early as 4 a.m., two hours before the polls opened, many Bronx residents began to line up to cast their ballots. City officials say the Board of Elections received 700,000 registration forms leading up to the election, portending a huge turnout.
?I'm just excited,? says Shirley Fleming, who voted at P.S. 107. ?In 35 years, I never witnessed a line such as this at this hour in the morning. It's great.?
Poll workers say any Bronx resident who is in line when the doors close at 9 p.m. will be allowed inside to vote.
