Wheel thieves strike Bronx neighborhood
A Bronx woman woke up recently to discover that all four wheels of her car were stolen.
Andrea Ascencio Gonzales, of Throgs Neck, says she found her vehicle propped on two jacks, tires and rims gone.
According to a Bronx towing company, stealing rims and wheels is a widespread problem across the borough.
Ralph Mosca, of Napa Auto Parts, says motorists can take precaution by getting special coded wheel locks that cost up to $35.
However, while the locks help, Mosca warns there is no foolproof solution to wheel and rim theft.
?The only fix-all is sleeping in your car all night,? Mosca says.
