Police arrest man in connection with body found

Police have arrested a man Thursday in connection with the murder of John Hopkins Drago, a 22-year-old man whose body was found Wednesday.
The suspect, 23-year-old James Medina, has been charged with hindering prosecution in the first degree, tampering with evidence and marijuana possession. Police say Medina, who lives at a building close by on Pelham Bay Parkway, tampered with evidence at the crime scene and criminally assisted the suspect who murdered Hopkins Drago.
The superintendent of the apartment building at 2161 Barnes Ave. found the body parts of Hopkins Drago in plastic bags inside a shopping cart. Police say Hopkins Drago was stabbed in the neck and head before being dismembered.
Police are still searching for the murder suspect and ask anyone with information about the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
