Cross-examination continues in 'Black Sunday' trial

Cross-examination of firefighter Patrick McKenna continued at the Bronx County Hall of Justice Monday afternoon in the ?Black Sunday? trial.
Three defendants are facing murder charges for putting up an illegal partition that allegedly led to the deaths of firefighter John Bellow and Lt. Curtis Meyran on Jan. 23, 2005. McKenna told the jury that firefighters did not have any water to put out the fire and that he was not able to reach the appropriate floor of the apartment building until after the two men jumped to their deaths.
Defense attorneys are arguing that the lack of water ultimately led to their deaths while the prosecution maintains that the blocked fire escape was the deciding factor.
Firefighter Jeffery Cool, who survived his fall from the apartment?s fourth floor, is expected to take the stand Jan. 13.
