Security guard shot, killed in South Bronx

Police are searching for a gunman they say shot and killed a building security guard in the South Bronx.
According to police, the shooting happened at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at 280 E. 161st St. across the road from the new Bronx County Court House. Residents who live in the building say a gunman fired between 15 and 20 shots on the eighth floor of the building, killing 35-year-old Brian McCray.
A tenant who lives on the building?s eighth floor told News 12 The Bronx he could hear the shooter reload what sounded like a shotgun several times. The tenant says he called 911 twice, but it took police at least 10 minutes before they arrived. The shooter escaped the scene.
According to police, McCray was found shot dead inside the building. Another man was taken out of an apartment on a gurney. The condition of the second man is unknown.
Residents of the building say McCray had recently arrived in the Bronx and was originally from South Carolina. He was working as the building's security guard for less than one week.
NYPD officers say no arrests have been made and they have yet to discover a motive for the shooting. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
