Police: 3 injured in Williamsbridge triple shooting
Police say three men were shot just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday in Williamsbridge.
Witnesses say the gun shots were fired at the intersection of 219th Street and White Plains Road and one man says he saw one gun as it was firing. Many residents say the area is a quiet one, though other neighbors told News 12 The Bronx that the community has been plagued with violence and gangs recently.
According to business owners on White Plains Road, there was a large group of teenagers in the area of the shooting Saturday night as they closed their shops. Some business owners believe there was a Sweet 16 birthday party at a catering hall around the corner.
The three victims were taken to area hospitals and are recovering. Police say they will continue to investigate the cause of the shooting.
