Parkchester woman arraigned in grandson's death

A Parkchester grandmother accused of killing her 4-year-old grandson was arraigned Monday at the Bronx Criminal Courthouse.

Police say they found 4-year-old Kevion Shand unconscious in Angela Barksdale's home on Saturday. According to authorities, Kevion died from a blow to the head.

The city's Administration for Children's Services says it was not involved with placing the boy with Barksdale. The city agency has taken Kevion's younger sister into its care.

Barksdale faces second-degree murder charges. She is due back in court Feb. 27.
