BX residents outraged over transitional home
A Bronx community is outraged over plans to build a proposed 18 units of housing for former mental patients near their homes.
Dr. Peter Beitchman, Executive Director of non-profit group ?The Bridge,? assures Bathgate residents that the former patients would have proven their stability before moving into their new home.
?These are folks who have been to two previous levels of transitional housing,? says Beitchman.
Beitchman also stated they would create a community advisory board to ensure they remain a community asset.
Some Bronx residents are wary about the influx of former mental health patients.
?We just don?t know what kind of people they?re bringing in,? says Danny Reyes.
