Violent robbers strike twice at housing complex
Police are searching for four suspects who they believe are responsible for two robberies at a housing project on Webster Avenue.
According to authorities, the first crime was committed on April 3, when the suspects assaulted and robbed a 45-year-old man at the Butler Houses. On April 18, police say a surveillance camera captured the same four men robbing a 43-year-old man, hitting him over the head with a bottle and throwing him into an elevator.
Neighbors say security at the housing complex is lacking, and they don't feel safe leaving their apartments.
"The security isn't good at all," says tenant Adrian Dozier. "The intercom doesn't work. It's horrible."
Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
