1 Bronx school reopens, 2 remain closed
The South Bronx Charter School reopened Tuesday after a swine flu scare, but some parents remain concerned for their children's health.
After several students at the school fell ill with symptoms possibly linked to the H1N1 virus, officials closed the school May 19 and cleaned the facilities. However, other schools housed in the building on East 139th Street remained open.
Parents who spoke to News 12 the Bronx at the South Bronx Charter School say they will continue to stay on guard and look out for swine flu symptoms in their children.
"[We've] got to make sure our kids don't continue getting sick, and hopefully from now on they can finish the year well," says parent Jeffrey Santos.
P.S. 111 and the Bronx Charter School for Learning remained closed Tuesday due to swine flu fears, but they are expected to reopen Wednesday.
