Stella D'Oro factory to shut down

More than 100 workers at a famed Bronx cookie company learned Tuesday they would be losing their jobs when the factory is shut down in October.
Employees at the Stella D'Oro factory had been striking for better wages since August. A judge ordered Stella D'oro to reinstate the workers, but the factory's owner, Brynwood Partners, had argued they can't make a profit without significant union concessions.
Efforts by News 12 The Bronx to reach Brynwood Partners were unsuccessful.
