NYC motorists face congestion to Bronx
(AP) - For thousands of New York City motorists who use Throgs Neck Bridge, the Clearview Expressway will be the only option while investigators look into the cause of a bridge fire last week.
A ramp off the Cross Island Parkway will remain closed indefinitely during the investigation into Friday's blaze.
MTA Bridges and Tunnels spokeswoman Joyce Mulvaney says it is too soon to say how long restrictions at the Throgs Neck will be in place.
More than 100,000 vehicles make the commute over the bridge on an average weekday.
The fire broke out in a construction shed under the bridge that links the Bronx with Queens. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries.
