Fire rips though Mosholu Pkwy. apartments

Residents of an apartment building on Mosholu Parkway say they slept through a fire Wednesday night because their fire alarms don't work.
The blaze that broke out at 20 West Mosholu Parkway severely damaged the 37th and 38th floors of Tracey Towers. Many tenants say they did not find out about the fire until they smelled smoke, and none of the residents was evacuated.
According to maintenance workers, fires often break out in Tracey Towers because dumpsters are sometimes set ablaze.
The building's management company declined to comment on the state of the fire alarms.
