Police are searching for suspects who pistol-whipped and robbed a local business owner and his customers Wednesday.

Police say the owner of Porfinoss Mattress on Westchester Avenue in Hunts Point was confronted by four men who took cash and cell phones at gunpoint from the customers. After the robbery, officers say one of the men pistol-whipped the owner before fleeing the scene in a minivan.

Neighbors say the owner of the store left quickly after the incident and may have known the robbers. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
