Stores busted for selling realistic toy guns
Stores in The Bronx are being forced to stop selling illegal toy guns because they look and sound too much like real guns, officials say.
Officials say the danger of selling imitation guns is that people could mislead others into thinking it is a real gun. The look and feel of these guns can be easily confused with weapons that police officers use.
Selling imitation toy guns is against New York State law. Some examples are guns made of plastic, wood and metal. They also must not be painted black, blue, silver or aluminum.
