Funeral held in BX for fallen firefighter
Friends and family said their final goodbyes Tuesday at Saint Margaret of Crotona Church to a Yonkers firefighter killed in the line of duty.
"He was my best friend, and he was the best father, and he was the best at everything he did," said Tara Joyce, firefighter Patrick Joyce's widow.
Patrick Joyce, 39, was forced to jump to his death from a third-story window at 148 Waverly St. because of intense heat last Friday.
At a wake for Joyce in Bronxville Monday, the fallen firefighter was remembered as an honorable and selfless man.
Police say 33-year-old Rafael Roldan has admitted to starting the fire in which Joyce was killed.
