Fans get ready for ticker-tape parade
The 27th World Championship for the Yankees has been a long time coming; the last time they marched through the Canyon of Heroes was in 2000.
Friday?s ticker-tape parade begins at 11 a.m. on Broadway and Battery Place. It continues northbound up the Canyon of Heroes to Chambers Street and ends with a City Hall Plaza ceremony where Mayor Bloomberg will present the team with the keys to the city.
The sidewalks lining the parade route are open to the public and there are a limited number of public tickets available for the ceremony. The city warns fans to be aware of fraudulent ticket offers and reminds them that tickets are not for resale.
