St. Mary's Houses plagued by cat urine smell
Tenants at the Saint Mary's Park Houses in the Bronx say their building is plagued by the smell of pet urine because one resident owns several cats.
A resident who lives on the 19th floor of 645 Westchester Ave. says her apartment reeks of dead animals and cat urine, even though the so-called "cat lady" lives on the first floor. The accused resident's granddaughter says her grandmother isn't responsible, and some residents have been urinating and defecating in the stairwells, causing the smell.
A NYCHA spokesperson confirmed there are a number of cats living in a first floor apartment and the resident has been found ineligible to live there.
