Memorial held for Flight 587 victims

People from the Bronx and beyond gathered at a memorial in Rockaway Park Thursday to remember the 265 victims of American Airlines Flight 587.

The flight crashed Nov. 21, 2001, after taking off from John F. Kennedy International Airport. All 260 passengers aboard the jet destined for Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic died.

Five other people on the ground were killed when the plane went down in the Belle Harbor neighborhood.
