Police: Bronx man arrested in subway stabbing

(AP) - A New York City subway car became a scene ofbloody terror early Saturday when a Bronx man whipped out a knife andkilled a fellow passenger.

The killing happened in front of horrified D train riders in midtown Manhattan at about 2 a.m.

Police said two men in their mid-30s had gotten into anargument.

Gerardo Sanchez, 37, pulled a knife and repeatedly stabbed the victim in the neckand face.

A train conductor was alerted to the fight and waiting on theplatform when the train pulled into a station at West 53rd Street and7th Avenue.

They say the Sanchez was standing over his bloodied victim whenthe doors opened.

Police say Sanchez has been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
