Fallen tree knocks out power for several homes

Strong winds knocked down a tree on Ely Avenue, leaving several homes without power Saturday morning.

One neighbor, who also had his truck dented and scratched by the tree, says if the parks department listened to his warnings about the damaged tree, the incident could have been prevented.

Parks department officials had received a wind advisory early Saturday morning, instructing them to only remove dead or dying trees.
