BX church donates items despite recent fire

Members of the Glory of Christ Church in the Bronx gathered Saturday to help those in need despite the fact that their house of worship was burned down 10 days ago.

Congregants say they didn't want the recent tragedy to prevent them from helping the community, so they handed out clothing, holiday presents and toys to the needy.

"We want the people to know we're still here, we plan to be here, we're not going anywhere," the pastor, Raymond Talavera, says.

The church couldn't serve food at Saturday's event because the facility still has no gas or electricity.
