Firefighters bring presents to Bronx students

Firefighters from Ladder 54 brought dozens of presents to students at Seabury Day Care.

As a result of budget cuts, the school was unable to get gifts for the students, so teachers sent out letters asking for donations. The firefighters of Ladder 54 bought the students presents and delivered them Wednesday.

"A lot of children don't have a lot of things, we don't know how good their Christmas is [going to] be you know with the economy as it is," teacher Kim Humphreys says. "Just to see them excited and happy, it brought tears to our eyes."

The firefighters will also stop by two more schools on Christmas Eve to hand out more gifts to Bronx children.
