Officials: Spa used as prostitution ring

Neighbors in Pelham Bay were in shock Tuesday after learning the Glow Day Spa on Hobart Avenue was doing more than just nails and massages.

According to officials, the spa was also used as a prostitution ring. State Sen. Jeff Klein along with local law enforcement led to the current shutdown of the spa.

Patrons claim the spa offered full-nude body massages, complete with a bath for $60. Many of the patrons say they learned of the sexual services through Craigslist.

Klein says a hearing is scheduled for the middle of next month to determine whether the spa will receive another license.
