NYPD launches another crackdown on bad driving behaviors

As the city unofficially kicks off summer, the NYPD is kicking off yet another initiative to stop bad driving behaviors.
From now until June 1, officers will be cracking down on drivers using their cellphones, speeding and failing to yield to pedestrians.
A similar two-day speed enforcement last week lead to nearly 5,000 tickets citywide, including almost 800 in the Bronx.
Police will also be extra vigilant about parking violations, such as parking too close to bus stops and crosswalks, and double parking.
