March of peace hopes to end gun violence
In a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Monday, many Bronx residents marched through the streets calling for an end to gun violence.
Around 100 community members marched more than 10 blocks chanting and singing to promote peace in their neighborhood.
"We have made a clear stand that we are not for violence," said Assemblyman Nelson Castro. ?Especially in our youth."
To reduce violence state Sen. Pedro Espada Jr. (D-Bronx) created a resolution for peace and encouraged local youth to sign the pledge.
