Proposed bill: Carrying guns illegal when drunk
A new bill would make carrying a gun illegal for anyone with a blood-alcohol level higher than 0.08.
Sponsors of the bill say within the last five years, 94 arrests were made involving guns in bars in the state. In addition, three-quarters of those incidents occurred in New York City.
If passed, anyone who violates the law could be charged with a misdemeanor and serve up to one year in jail along with paying a $10,000 fine.
