1 injured in fire at BX home day care center

Fire officials say one person was hospitalized after a home and day care center went up in flames Wednesday.

Dozens of firefighters responded to the blaze, which broke out just before 3 p.m. Authorities say the three-story home usually houses a day care center in the basement, but it was closed because of the snowstorm.

Firefighters say one person, who suffered smoke inhalation, was transported to Jacobi Medical Center.

Five firefighters also suffered minor injuries.
