Woman denies driving car linked to hit-and-run
The owner of the car that hit two women in Brooklyn over the weekend said Thursday that she wasn't behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
Cindy Jasmin said her sister was operating the vehicle when it plowed into Erinn Phelan and Alma Guerro Sunday. Phelan remains critical, while Guerro is in stable condition.
Jasmin's attorneys said surveillance video released by police after the accident doesn't show Jasmin or her sister, Frances. Attorney Adam Thompson says Frances Jasmin cannot give her side of the story because she had a mental breakdown.
"She's under psychiatric care and under a 24-hour suicide watch," Thompson says.
