Bronx man falls 2 floors after stair collapse

A Bronx man was injured after falling nearly two floors when the stairs in an apartment building collapsed underneath him.

Leo Watts was visiting his cousin on White Plains Road when he fell through a tread in the stairs from the second floor, ending up in a closet of the Kennedy Fried Chicken next door.

The Buildings Department has issued the property owner a violation for failure to maintain the staircase. Tenants say he ignored several complaints about the shaky steps.

Watts was taken to the hospital with a neck brace and several cuts and bruises.
