Parents grilled, released in baby's death

Authorities questioned the parents of a 9-month-old baby Sunday in connection with her death.

Police say they released the mother, but held the father for further questioning. They were both released Sunday pending a grand jury investigation.

Police responded to a 911 call Saturday and found 9-month-old Neveah Jackson unconscious at her home. She was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

According to the medical examiner, the cause of the death was blunt impact injuries to the head, including skull fractures and brain injuries.
