Local food banks receive egg donations

For the third year in a row, United Egg Producers and Feeding America have teamed up with local egg farmers to fight against hunger and mal-nutrition.

Over the next two weeks 850,000 eggs will be delivered and distributed to help those in low-income communities get the proper protein and nutrition they need.

Eggs may seem like a cheap item on the grocery list for some. However, in just one month the average price of a dozen eggs rose 10 cents and it has been on a steady climb since October.
