Bronx Zoo back in business for the spring

The Bronx Zoo reopened its season exhibits Saturday, just in time for patrons to take advantage of the spring weather.

Thousands flocked to the zoo to see attractions like the Butterfly Garden, Congo Gorilla Forest and Children?s Zoo.

Several new baby animals also made their spring debuts.

Two million people visit the zoo every year, most during the spring and summer seasons.

Local business owners say they?re grateful for the extra foot traffic and customers. Monica Pacuillo, of nearby Tino?s Deli, says profits increase by up to 40 percent during the zoo?s peak season.
