Bronx women's group makes census push
A Bronx women's group is making a plea to get all residents counted in the 2010 census.
The Muslim Women's Institute for Research and Development has census workers at its Ogden Avenue office and food pantry as part of a local Muslim-Catholic project.
Only 56 percent of Bronx households have mailed in their forms, which is lower than both the state and national participation rates. Residents have until May 1 to complete the census. After that, census teams will visit homes they haven't heard from.
