Espada defends himself against allegations
Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada Jr. today said allegations that he siphoned off millions of dollars from a government-funded non-profit clinic for himself and his family are unfounded and a sham.

Some of Espada's supporters, many of whom flanked him during his news conference, announced they're launching an investigation to see whether or not the lawsuit filed by Cuomo was politically motivated.
