Suspicious package evacuates school

J.H.S. 144 Michelangelo School was evacuated earlier today due to a suspicious package near the building, according to the DOE.

The package was wrapped in duct-tape and left in a parking lot near the school. Authorities say the package is harmless.

The New York City Bomb Squad ordered the evacuation. Students were moved to P.S. 121 and P.S. 97.

Parents were able to pick up their children at the two schools. However, administrators did not close J.H.S. 144 for the day.
