BX residents head out to enjoy high temps

Bronx residents headed outside this morning to enjoy summer-like weather at events throughout the borough.

People decked in summer gear attended a street fair on Bronxwood Avenue, while children flocked to Watson Gleason Playground in Soundview, enjoying temperatures in the mid-80s.

"It's been a long time since we were able to enjoy such good weather, so I'm excited about it," says Loriana Avila.

In May 2001, the record high was 87 degrees. Forecasters say today's temperatures might tie the 2001 record, or even break it.
