Women building affordable housing in BX

Dozens of female volunteers from Habitat for Humanity gathered today to build affordable housing apartments for low-income families in the South Bronx.

The volunteers, among whom are teachers, housewives and even actors, will spend Mother's Day weekend installing Sheetrock in 14 units being constructed at 853 Marcy Place.

"It makes it really personal and really important," says "Mercy" star Taylor Schilling.

The 64-unit building is expected to be finished by the end of this year.
