Man accused in teen's death appears in court

The man accused of stabbing his girlfriend's 14-year-old daughter in the Bronx appeared in court today.

A Bronx judge decided to postpone Christopher Ezell's arraignment because he has to complete a mental competency test first.

Family members say Ezell, 35, helped raise Emonee Williams. According to relatives, Ezell was living in the residence with Emonee and has been her mother's boyfriend since the teen was born.

Police say Ezell and Emonee's mother were arguing when the teen intervened. Police say they found the girl with fatal stab wounds in her Melrose apartment May 21.
